Sun and blue skies as we drive passed Chorley on the M6. Look a bit black where we are heading. Fingers crossed an keep your sunshine dancin going.
Snowdon was an interesting experience as I've never done fell walking in the dark. My Freddie-winter-walking head torch worked really well. Good to know as most of Ben Nevis will be in the dark. It was a weird sight seeing a line of almost 100 torches snaking up a mountain.
Apologies of course for any spelling mistakes. A combination of bouncy coach and tired head is not a good mix. It'll probably get worse as the challenge goes on. Maybe of I can get somewhere quiet like on the ferry I can give Siri a go.
Sleep is eluding me as usual since the long legs are crammed in to a coach seat. Pain levels are manageable at the moment though the fatigue is setting in. Hopefully once we get to Seathwaite and gets started the adrenalin will kick in again. Determined not to take painkillers too early.
Blue sky now gone. Hey ho. Time to try the eyes closed thing again.
Chin chin everyone. Mines a Guinness if you are getting one in.
Keep it up matey, the Dowg is with you, in spirit at least.
ReplyDeleteWell done Teeds. When you say the leaders setting the pace, are they other people in your group or H4H organisers? Have you met either of the Mike's yet? We're all thinking about you here and sending our love. Freddie says you need to imagine him pulling you up those mountains - he is with you. xxx

ReplyDeleteCOME ON HORSE, rememeber you are a Legend, bring on the NADGE!
ReplyDeleteWell done Mr B - looking forward to celebrating with you and Mrs B.
ReplyDeleteNeil - this is a message from your number one fan Sudan - have copied it her from Facebook:
ReplyDeleteBailey - couldn't work out how to post stuff on the blog - seemed I had to do all sorts of things so pressed a lot of buttons and just got cross, hence the FB contact (Sally if your lovely Mr B isn't looking at FB please forward). Anyway what a mega, mega achievement - good to see you've manned up a bit! Couldn't work out why you're dropping litter at the top of mountains though. Coach sounds classy (and that's clarssy with an 'r') - perhaps you could bring back 'Wish you were here'! Keep strong, or at least don't be a Big Girl's blouse! Susan.
It sounds tough but then so are you so keep going! Hope coach isn't too grim and that you are managing to get some rest though when we were checking the itinerary today at work they seemed to have forgotten the resting part!! Take care and good luck tomorrow. Gill
ReplyDeleteMuck, but worried that you havent posted for a while, I hope you are ok.
ReplyDeleteJust to let you all know that I've just had a text from Neil to say that he's fine but is just really struggling from the lack of sleep. He'll be on his way to Northern Ireland at the moment ready to start the next climb at 7pm tonight. Sally x
